Silvia Saca |
Silvia Saca is the Project Chief of the Gender in Development Project, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), in Moldova. She is working in the direction of raising the public awareness regarding women's issues among decision-makers, government officials and members of Parliament by conducting training sessions, workshops, and working meetings. Saca conducts workshops on Gender Issues, Violence Against Women, Leadership Roles, as well as Training for Trainers in Gender Issues, and workshops in Marketing, Management, Small and Medium-Size Business Development for women.
Saca has also founded the "Beijing Group" -- the only one of its kind in the region -- uniting representatives of over 16 women's Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), including 3 women's oppositional political movements. This experience was recommended by UNDP as a model for other countries.
Saca earned a BA in Spanish Language and Literature from the State University of Moldova in 1971.
